One of the reasons I decided to write this blog is quite simply because I love boats, sailing, water-sports and film making. But from a more professional point of view video is the perfect way to show a very exciting activity at its best when it’s done properly.
Reason 1 – Other than being part of the activity, video is the closest advertising medium to it. The excitement factor is second to non in video, you can show people laughing, having fun being thrilled and if it’s done properly the viewer will be left wanting to do it. A great sales tool in my opinion. Video can also give the viewer a very good idea of what facilities the boat has to offer.
Reason 2 ÛÒ Video can be used in so many different ways it truly is multifunctional. For example the same video could be used online (YouTube, Video and Websites), at trade shows and exhibitions, onboard yachts using their built in entertainment centres, on iPads during a tour or a meeting and on DVDs and Blu-rays.
Reason 3 – Video is a fantastic way of portraying beauty, we can use many techniques to show off a yachts curves and lines, when the yacht is at sea helicopters and chase boats can be used to show the majesty of the yacht.
Reason 4 – With the use of interviews from designers, builders and interior designers the viewer can get a real sense of the quality workmanship that goes into each and every boat. This also helps you because you can be sure that if someone contacts you having seen your videos they will be a serious buyer.
Reason 5 – Boats have a shelf life like everything and it seems a shame that something so beautiful will eventually be broken up. Why not use a video as a way of capturing the yacht so it can always be remembered, this is also very good for yachts that have been designed for a special task or event such as the royal barge MV Spirit of Chartwell.
